Defined by a focus on cultural strategies, the main field of research and practice is the conception, curation and production of cultural strategies through a dynamic constellation of contemporary art, historical research and contemporary culture; having as main inspiration the cultural and historical impact of the Corinthian black currant across European ports during 19th century. In particular, Primarolia organisation focuses on projects and processes of historical research, contemporary art practice, curatorial practices, digitisation of archives and developmental culture. Primarolia organisation activates interdisciplinary and intermedia collaborations with artists, researchers, academic and cultural institutions through curatorial schemes of art, history and intercultural projects. The annual extroversion of Primarolia organisation takes place through the homonymous Primarolia Festival, which presents a curated contemporary art exhibition with invited artists from Greece and abroad who present experimental new works inspired by currant histories, while other festival aspects include creative and research symposia/workshops of historical research and developmental culture but also further contemporary collaborations with cultural and academic institutions.

FURTHER PRACTICES

In specific cases, Primarolia organisation has expanded its cultural strategies from the Corinthian black currant to other locations with significant historical and cultural features.
