25 SEPTEMBER – 3 ΟCTOBER
PAPER FACTORY GARDEN – POLIKENTRO CENTER, AIGIO

Primarolia organisation goes on by bringing together the potential of Corinthian black currant (19th c.) and paper production (20th c.); two large periods of production and extroversion for Aigialeia. Primarolia Festival 2021 is relocating  to the historical site of Paper Factory garden; a place both renovated and infused with collective memory. Renovation was organized by the Municipality of Aigialeia and DHKEPA during summer 2021. The garden opens up once more for the audience to explore new cultural initiatives such as Primarolia.

If 19th century was the century of black currant for Aigialeia, then the early decades of 20th century were dedicated to the potential of paper. Following the thread of national celebrations of 200 years since the Greek War of Independence, Primarolia Festival explores both the impact of black currant and paper during 19th and 20th centuries – and most importantly the 21st century metamodern cultural initiatives that emerge from such periods/processes and sites.
