Historical research and documentation

Panayiotis Angelopoulos (1964) is a Physical Education and Sports Science graduate of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. He holds a BA in Ancient History from the department of History and Archaeology, University of Crete. He has worked for over 25 years as a Physical Education teacher in Primary, Secondary and Higher Education (University of Crete and Panteion University). He is one of the founders of the Association for the study of History and Society (OMIK), has given numerous speeches, taken part in conferences as well as made publications around historical and social matters. He is also one of the founders of the Non-profit Civil Company for the Rescue of Historical Evidence and Cultural Inheritance called Archeion Taxis, which aims to the rescue and classification of archives. He has worked in archive rescue with a group from the University of Crete. Furthermore, he is a co founder of Post Augustum, a website about the history of the Mediterranean during the first post – Christian centuries as well as a member of the board of Post Augustum e-magazine which has a specific inquiring interest in the period of late antiquity. He has written historically associated articles published in scientific magazines, several reports in conferences and he is an author of a book and several scientific studies concerning history.
He is responsible for the department of historical research and documentation for the Primarolia organisation.
