BILL BALASKAS
Bill Balaskas (1983) is a London-based artist, theorist, and educator. He is an Associate Professor and Director of Research at Kingston University’s School of Art and Architecture, and an advisor to Arts Council England in the field of collaborative research. His art practice spans the intersections of conceptual art, installation art and experimental video. His artworks have been widely exhibited internationally in more than 130 galleries, museums, festivals, and public spaces. He has received awards and grants from the European Cultural Foundation, European Investment Bank Institute, Comité International d’Histoire de l’Art, and the Association for Art History (UK), among others. Furthermore, Bill has been an editor for the Leonardo Electronic Almanac (MIT Press), while his writings have also appeared in numerous books and publications, such as the Journal of Visual Culture, Third Text and Revista Arta. Originally trained as an economist (Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece), he holds a PhD in Critical Writing in Art & Design and an MA in Communication Art & Design from the Royal College of Art (UK).
